Ironing Board Covers

When was the last time you washed your ironing board cover?

I’m a quilter so I know how important it is to keep starch from building up and with repeated use and heat it can cause staining to your cover. There are microbes in the water that you spray on you fabrics, heck even in the fabrics before you spray them that can make your ironing board cover stinky over time.

Some fabrics release dye when sprayed with certain brands of starch, batik fabrics are notorious for this along with some brands of black dyed fabrics. It is only through trial and error as to how we know which fabrics release dye, when this happens it’s nice to have another board cover on hand and to get the dirty one into the was as soon as possible

Just like bedsheets, it’s good to have more than cover for your ironing board. Someone is washing and air drying you have another one to put on your ironing board.

I personally prefer the Oliso brand ironing board covers, the fit nicely, wash well and have good padding and secure Velcro straps.
