Shop Your Quilt Stash

I rarely purchase fabric nowadays, and when I do, it must be truly exceptional.

In 2025, I acquired some unique fabrics while traveling, including distinctive textiles from a quaint quilt shop in Aalborg, Denmark - ones not available in the USA. Furthermore, I visited a charming quilt shop in my hometown of Citrus Heights, California, and another in Portland, Maine, which offered unique fat quarters and nostalgic fabrics reminiscent of my childhood.

I created dozens of small projects in 2025 utilizing fabrics I had on hand. As of January 5, 2026, I have devised a plan to create engaging and interesting projects that will also serve as occupational therapy for my hand and wrist.

This month, I have made two strategic purchases for my Secret Garden sewing room, including specially made labels for my small handcrafted projects and a rainbow of grosgrain ribbon for my buntings and reusable gift bags.

While I may not be going for a full-on “no buy,” I am going for “shop responsibly.”
