When you’re swimming in scraps…

You make scrappy projects.

Ever bought a light box or something similar, only to find it needed something better than the flimsy plastic sleeve it came with?

Well, as a quilter, you’re ready to make something for it!

So, I grabbed my batik fabric strips and got to work creating a large quilted zippy pouch. No extra money spent; it was all made from scraps, some scrappy pieces of batting I had franken-stitched together, and some zipper by the yard.

This super cute batik zipper pouch is my way of keeping my light box safe when I’m not using it. It’s lightly padded on both sides, has a zipper at the top, and keeps my light box secure and protected.

I made each side a different color scheme just for fun. As a fun bonus, I used those fancy, less frequently used stitches on my sewing machine to give my zipper pouch a little something extra.

Side note—I never use Franken-stitched batting on projects where the stitched-together pieces would show or be felt.
