It’s the little things that make me smile.

These mini quilts are designed by Laurie Kent Designs, she’s based in Raleigh NC. I met her a few years ago when we first lived out here. Both my husband and I really liked her, she took time to explain her design process, her previous career and she didn’t talk down to us like we were total idiots. I hope she goes far in this new career.

It was a dream of mine to have owned a thriving quilt shop, but that was years ago.

You’re not going to like everything that one designer makes and that’s totally normal. I do have to say that I like her stuff immensely. Not all of of it mind you, but 90% of it to be sure.

I adore her machine embroidery designs and soon you’ll see her stuff sold at quilt shops across the USA. She’s got fabric lines and all kinds of fun stuff coming soon! I can say that I got to know her before she became a bigger part of the quilting industry. I’m very happy for her.

So you don’t do machine embroidery but you’re a quilter? Oh my gosh you’re going to adore her quilt patterns and kits! You should see her laser cut appliqués, her designs are amazing!

Now more to the North and South Carolina mini quilt designs, she’s got a North Carolina quilt pattern out that’s super cute.

The nod to Krispy Kreme makes me giggle and I always associated South Carolina with terrific seafood along with their scrumptious low country cuisine and North Carolina with the fantastic BBQ.

I feel so blessed to be able to live in yet another part of this country that has given me great experiences and great food. Although I’ve yet to experience Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
