Singer Featherweight history

This morning I had read a fascinating article put together by The Featherweight Shop (it’s in their blog) about how Singer Sewing Machine Co. had subtly changed little things throughout the years on their featherweight sewing machines.

Little things, in the elements of design; be it of the bobbin winder or placement of the tension guide for the bobbin winder, the decals, including the box for the machines and the box handles. There were special edition colors such as tan or light turquoise and how those cases were different plus the addition of the 222. I felt as if I fell down a rabbit hole. I’m always learning something new and delightful about my vintage sewing machines.
