1 year postoperative hand surgery

It’s been a year since my last hand surgery and I wanted to give you all an update on how I’m doing.

I won’t sugarcoat it, the healing and recovery process was brutal and extremely painful at times. Occupational therapists are worth their weight in gold. I knew what I was in for before the surgery, it’s not the kind of surgery that guarantees a 100% recovery, you’ll recover but with limitations. You have to be in a lot of pain to go forward with a surgery like what I had.

So while my hand isn’t 100%, it’s more like 85 to 90%. I’m no longer in pain and I can use it. And while my grip isn’t as strong as it once was, I do have a good grip.

You can hardly see the scar now, it now looks like an odd ripple in my skin. I already knew that my hand would never be as it was pre injury, and I have zero regrets about the surgery.
