Fabric Bolt Storage
The evolution of my sewing room over the past 3 years has been an incredible adventure of discovery and creativity.
The newest chapter in this journey is about how I store my bolts of fabric, a challenge that has sparked innovation and growth.
At first, I used plastic milk crates, a practical solution that allowed me to keep my fabrics off the floor. When I retired from my bath products business, I had a plethora of these crates, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to repurpose them. The crates were functional but cumbersome, inspiring me to seek out a more elegant solution.
Next, I utilized metal laundry carts on wheels, which allowed me to effortlessly move my fabrics in and out of the closet. However, the closet floor soon became cluttered, and I was driven to find a more efficient way to store my fabrics.
The newest addition to my sewing room is a custom-designed and built cabinet for my bolts of fabric, a testament to the power of imagination and collaboration. I envisioned using the space underneath the windows to store my fabric bolts, and my husband brought this vision to life. Together, we transformed a challenge into an opportunity, and the result is a beautiful and functional space that inspires me to create.
