Feeling grateful
As I reflect on photos from our transformative year, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey that has brought me to where I am today, from selling our house in MA to moving to NC and living in an apartment in Mint Hill while this house was being built. This journey has profoundly instilled in me a deep appreciation for the blessings I enjoy today.
We embarked on an incredible downsizing journey before our move to North Carolina and continued to simplify our lives afterwards, and I am so proud of what we have accomplished. There were so many times when I missed my little secret garden sewing room in the basement back in MA while living in that apartment, but now I am surrounded by natural light and a beautiful view of the neighborhood. While I did have two windows in that basement sewing room of mine, alas, there was no view as they were underneath the deck of the house.
It’s been 3 years since we moved into this house and I am still in awe of the beauty that surrounds me. My husband designed and built my first Secret Garden sewing room back in MA, and here in NC, he has created yet another incredible space for me to sew, quilt, and craft to my heart’s content, a true sanctuary that fills me with joy and inspiration.
