New Cooking series on Netflix

Unlike most individuals, I genuinely enjoy cooking and baking from scratch and do not mind cleaning up.

I have been an avid fan of 'The Joy of Cooking' since the early days of my marriage, and I subsequently added the 'Better Homes & Gardens New Cookbook' to my collection. Then I discovered 'Cook's Illustrated' and 'America's Test Kitchen' magazines, which significantly enhanced my cooking skills and the quality of meals I served.

It was during one of our duty stations, I was inspired to take cooking and baking classes taught by local chefs and bakers who owned their own businesses. I can bake 30 different types of cheesecake, each one unique and delicious. I also make my own gourmet pasta, along with artisanal breads and pastries, thanks to those classes.

Decades ago, when Food Network first emerged, it introduced viewers to new chefs with new recipes – gourmet meals that didn't break the bank. Sadly, it is now more about competitions than showing viewers how to cook. However, PBS is and still remains the network with authenticity, bringing viewers programs like 'America's Test Kitchen' and 'Cook's Country.' Julia and Bridget being on Netflix (The Side Dish) is just them spreading the word to a new audience that 'America's Test Kitchen' is here for everyone. PBS also has many other wonderful cooking programs worth checking out. No matter your tastes, there's something for everyone.
